About Anthony Kenney
Anthony Bernard Kenney Jr. was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, to the parents Joyce Kenney and Anthony Kenney Sr. Anthony is a proud HBCU graduate and alumnus of Southern University and A&M College. He majored in Mass Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. He recently graduated from Louisiana State University’s Manship School of Mass Communications, obtaining his Master’s in Strategic Communications and Public Affairs. During his matriculation at Southern, he was a part of numerous organizations such as the Student Government Association, serving as the 2018-2019 SGA President, the Human Jukebox Marching Band, and as a Spring '19 initiate of the Beta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Currently, he's the Deputy Executive Director for 100 Black Men of Metro Baton Rouge.
He was formerly the Legislative Aide for Louisiana State Rep. Vanessa LaFleur and former State Rep. Ted James for Louisiana’s House of Representatives District 101. He is also a part of various community organizations such as Forum225, Bike N Vote, and the North Baton Rouge Economic Development District, where he serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. Anthony is an Amazon best-selling author and was recently a co-author for The HBCU Experience Movement, LLC Presents: The HBCU Experience: The Southern University System 2nd Edition. Prominent Southern University System alumni throughout the world share their stories of how the Southern University System has molded them into the people they are today. He is also the founder of the GeauxVote Festival, an annual festival in Baton Rouge aimed at engaging and educating all communities to get out to vote. Additionally, he is the founder of his own motivational/public speaking company, “Come to Life,” and the consulting firm A.K. Consulting Firm LLC. His passion for being an advocate and engaging in the civic process comes from his belief that his purpose is to be a bridge and torch for his generation.

Anthony is also the founder of the GeauxVote Festival, an annual event in Baton Rouge aimed at boosting voter turnout and engagement. His passion for advocacy and engagement in the civic process stems from his belief that his purpose is to be a bridge between generations and to carry the torch of a brighter future for those to come.
